Tom George's Tell Massini (15-2) strung them all out in the Grade Two Cleanevent Novices' Hurdle.
An Irish point-to-point winner and more recently on his debut for his new stable at Chepstow, he was given a positive ride by Sam Thomas.
It started to become evident the 5-6 favourite Reve de Sivola was not going to land the odds and finished a respectful eight lengths behind.
George said: "We knew he had to step up on his Chepstow run but we're thrilled. He's not a flash horse but he just gallops.
"We'll probably give him three or four weeks now and I'd be keen to step up to three miles."
